We will pass through Agadir and arrive at a small village called Sidi Bibi, famous for the preparation of the best tagines in the region. We will check its fame by having a delicious tagine for lunch and then we will start our visit to the Souss-Massa National Park. We will make a guided tour in 4×4 crossing two reserves of fauna and flora. During the visit we will make stops to receive explanations from the guides, take pictures and observe nature.

At the end of the tour we will visit the small fishing village of Tifnit. Traditional fishing with boats is still practiced there and the village has an important market that supplies the whole area with fish and seafood. We will start the day with an introduction to the Amazigh culture (known by foreigners as Berber) and the life of the women of the village. They are dedicated to the elaboration of handmade textile products such as handbags with patterns and drawings of the local nature.

At the end of this introduction to the local culture we will go to the beach with the women, where they will teach us how to collect seafood directly from the rocks on the shore, with which we will later prepare lunch for the day. We will walk along the beach and enjoy the beautiful views, peace and tranquility.

Afterwards we will do a collective cooking session with the collected ingredients and enjoy lunch with the local people. After lunch we will visit the peculiar fishermen’s cave houses. These are old houses dug into the cliffs, handmade generations ago. The fishermen live in them, located next to the shore, many of them fish daily for their own consumption and for sale. We will visit the houses and meet the fishermen to talk about their quiet lifestyle, as we always do while sharing a cup of tea. WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH OF MOROCCO

On our trip to Morocco we will visit the Souss-Massa region, in the south of the country. In the coastal regions we will find pleasant temperatures throughout the year, being the highest temperatures in the summer months. In the Anti Atlas mountain range, however, being an inland area, the temperature changes between day and night are very strong, as well as between the different months of the year. Therefore, we recommend to dress warmly for the winter months and light clothing for the months closer to summer.

Rainfall in this area is almost non-existent. UV radiation is intense so sunscreen is recommended.

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT FOR YOUR TRIP TO MOROCCO

For this trip to the south of Morocco you will mainly need:

  • Comfortable clothes that cover knees and shoulders.
  • Some warm clothes for the mornings and evenings.
  • Footwear suitable for uneven roads and trails.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Flashlight.
  • Small backpack for daily excursions.
  • Bathing clothes for the Hammam.

In the downloadable guide below you will find all the detailed information on what you will need for the trip.

DIFFICULTY AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

During our trip through Morocco we will not make long walks or complicated trails. The villages through which we will walk daily, although some are not asphalted, are very easy to walk. So it is a trip of low physical demand.

On the fifth day we will do an easy hike through the ruins of the Ammelne Valley. This is an optional outing, so if you prefer to stay waiting at the accommodation or with the locals, there would be no problem.

What travelers say about this trip

I return from my trip to Morocco full of experiences, memories and emotions. I would like to be able to express everything I have experienced, but I know that it is not possible, because it is beyond words. Even so, I will try. What hospitable, generous and simple people!!!! They were waiting for us with open arms as if they had known us all our lives. I especially appreciate the affection and sincere welcome with which we have been received by the different families with whom we have had this time together. The organized trip has been exceptional. Sara and Carlos did everything with special affection and dedication, taking care of the travelers and the families we visited at all times. Besides, since everything is included (even water), you don't have to worry about anything. Being a small group, the trip allows you to share in a special way with others, along with the guides Abdellah and Saïd, who could not have been more fantastic, friendly and charming. Of course, there is a before and an after in the type of trips I will make from now on, and I recommend everyone to treat themselves to this experience because this trip has certainly touched my heart and I come back a better person.
Inma
It is the first time I have done an all-inclusive organized trip and especially a cultural trip with direct immersion in the daily life and customs of the place. This cultural trip to Morocco has been the gateway to the Amazigh people, their traditions and way of life. Connecting with the people, getting to know their history, customs and way of life has been a great enrichment and has meant breaking beliefs and prejudices. The style of travel with Sara and Carlos (Cara a Cara Viajes), the guides and those who made up the travel group, has allowed a pleasant experience throughout the trip. The guides have been an essential part, respectful, close and very professional, making it very easy to connect with the people with whom we have shared the activities, providing us with information continuously. Without any doubt I recommend this experience to people interested in this kind of trips, and Cara a Cara Viajes as a responsible, resolute, close and respectful agency.
María
I can't get this trip out of my mind. Although I have been traveling to Morocco for almost a decade, I had never before participated in a cultural immersion trip with the quality I have enjoyed with Cara a Cara Viajes. Sara and Carlos are great professionals and have chosen the activities with excellent criteria to bring us closer to different aspects of Amazigh life (crafts, gastronomy, sociology, urbanism...). However, if I had to define this trip, I would choose the great human quality we have found, from our host Muhammed and his family, who welcomed us in the small Amazigh village of Albid, to Abdullah, our local guide, Saïd, our driver, and the friends we have made along the way. With Cara a Cara Viajes to the end of the world.
Auxi
The trip to Amazigh Morocco was an incredible experience, very immersive and enriching. With Carlos, Sara, a local guide and several hosts, we were able to learn about the culture, gastronomy, customs and landscapes of a beautiful rural area little (or not at all) known by tourism. Carlos and Sara are great professionals, very attentive and polite, always making sure that everything goes as expected or better. In addition, the local population stands out for its great friendliness and hospitality. All in all, the trip felt more like a coexistence than a simple visit, being part of the experience rather than mere observers. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone who likes to travel and experience new places and cultures, I will definitely repeat.
